Straight From The Cask Sherry Cask 12 Yr Old

Distilled at the Edradour distillery from heavily peated barley, this single sherry cask is a striking and heavy whisky, bringing heady notes of fresh espresso coffee, leather and black forrest fruit aromas. Roasted, toasted and nutty aromas give way to a dense peat smoke with earthy farmyard aromas and freshly varnished wood. The palate carries over with a dense mouthfeel that is surprisingly soft given the high strength, offering a dry and intense dark chocolate / espresso finish. The peat smoke of Edradour's Ballechin is wonderfully funky, and the combination of sherry and smoke here is quite exceptional.
